AAA And MADD Join Forces To Combat Impaired Driving
MADD and AAA are working to encourage responsible decision-making and promote safer roads for everyone.

As communities across Colorado continue working to reduce impaired driving and improve roadway safety, two organizations with a shared commitment to protecting lives are strengthening their partnership to make a greater impact.
Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) and AAA have joined forces nationally to advance public awareness, education, and advocacy efforts aimed at ending impaired driving. The collaboration combines MADD’s decades-long mission of supporting victims and preventing drunk and drugged driving with AAA’s extensive traffic safety research, driver education programs, and public outreach initiatives.
The partnership comes at a critical time. Despite increased awareness and stricter laws, impaired driving remains one of the leading causes of traffic fatalities across the United States. Through joint campaigns, educational resources, and community engagement efforts, MADD and AAA are working to encourage responsible decision-making and promote safer roads for everyone.
Locally, the partnership has added significance through AAA Colorado’s involvement in the Greater Glendale Chamber of Commerce. As an active Chamber member, AAA helps support business development, community engagement, and public safety initiatives throughout the Glendale area.
“Traffic safety is a community issue that affects residents, businesses, and visitors alike,” said Jeff Allen, Chamber COO. “Organizations such as AAA bring valuable expertise and resources that help strengthen our community while supporting efforts to reduce preventable tragedies on our roadways.”
The partnership’s mission will be on display during the upcoming Move with MADD Denver 5K Run and Walk, a community fundraising event designed to raise awareness and funds to help end impaired driving for good.
Hosted by MADD Colorado, the event will take place on Saturday, August 1, at 8 a.m. at Sloan’s Lake Park in Denver. Participants of all ages are invited to run, walk, donate, or simply show their support for victims and survivors of impaired driving crashes.
Funds raised through the event support MADD’s victim services, prevention programs, educational initiatives, and advocacy efforts throughout Colorado. Organizers hope the event will inspire community members to become part of the movement to eliminate impaired driving and create safer roads for future generations.
For Glendale area residents, the collaboration between MADD and AAA serves as an example of how nonprofit organizations, businesses, and community leaders can work together toward a common goal. Through partnerships like this one, advocates hope to create a future where impaired driving becomes a thing of the past.
As the Greater Glendale Chamber of Commerce continues to foster connections among businesses and community organizations, the involvement of members such as AAA demonstrates how local partnerships can contribute to broader efforts that improve safety and quality of life throughout the region.
