Hampton Creek Boutique: A Store For Everyone To Feel Comfortable And Appreciated

Owner: Tam Hampton has 25 years of retail experience and opened Hampton Creek Boutique in 2008.

Hampton Creek Boutique is a one-of-a-kind store with inventory you won’t see in other stores. Their prices are mid-range. “We want everyone to shop our store,” said Hampton. “We don’t really cater to a certain income level. People come in and are amazed at my inventory selection. I call myself a boutique but I am way more than that.”

Hampton keeps her prices in a range that her customers can afford largely because of her experience with big box retailers. “I have always thought that big chain stores overcharge customers for their merchandise,” said Hampton. “I always told myself if I opened up my own store, I was not going to overcharge my customers. That was one of the reasons why I wanted to open my own store. To give the customer a

fair price for a quality item.”

Motorcycle: Tam Hampton enjoys riding her Harley Davidson motorcycle any chance she gets.

One Of A Kind Store: Hampton Creek Boutique is a ladies boutique complete with sterling silver, fashion jewelry, home décor, soy candles, metaphysical and rock shop, professional art from a gallery in Georgetown, and a year-round Christmas shop.

Hampton Creek Boutique is a ladies boutique complete with sterling silver, fashion jewelry, home décor, soy candles, metaphysical and rock shop, professional art from a gallery in Georgetown, and a year-round Christmas shop. Hampton Creek Boutique is a 1,350-square-foot store that was started by Tam Hampton in February 2008 after 10 years in the retail industry.

Hampton began her career in retail in 1998 at Dillards in Tullahoma, Tennessee. Hampton opened her store in 2008 with no money in the bank and without a loan. She has built it from nothing to something in 15 years.

“I have never met a stranger,” says Tam Hampton, owner of Hampton Creek Boutique. “I feel like that is why I have been so successful in retail over the last 25 years. It’s easy for me to walk up and have a conversation with anybody.”

Hampton is a strong advocate for chambers of commerce. She was a member of the Tullahoma Tennessee Chamber for 12 years, and an ambassador for 10 of those years. “I am a big chamber person,” said Hampton. “I feel like the chamber is a great place to network.”

Storefront: Hampton Creek Boutique is located at 8450 E. Iliff Ave. in Denver. It is at the corner of Iliff and Wabash, across the street from Cherry Creek Country Club.

When Hampton first opened the store, she did not want to cater to a certain income level. She wanted it to be affordable to everyone. Hampton says that people do not feel intimidated in her store and she will always talk to her customers about something to break the ice. “It makes people feel comfortable,” said Hampton. “I have a lot of people that come in and hang out because the atmosphere is friendly and inviting.”

Hampton loves to hike any chance she gets. She also loves to ride her Harley Davidson motorcycle.
