Historical photos from the organization will be added to the “J” for next 100 days.

The Staenberg-Loup Jewish Community Center (JCC Denver) has installed an eight foot “J” in the lobby of the JCC Denver to mark the organization’s 100th anniversary. The “J” was installed on Friday, June 10, 100 days before the organization’s annual fundraising dinner where they will officially celebrate their 100th anniversary. Every day leading up to the dinner new photos from the organization’s history will be added to the sides of the “J” to envelope it in pictures from the past. The art installation also includes an interactive component via iPads surrounding the “J” where guests can learn about the history of the JCC Denver and how and why it was founded.

“We wanted to do something impactful yet celebratory on-site to mark our 100th anniversary,” said Mike Sophir, CEO of the JCC Denver. “This interactive installation is a can’t miss piece that at the end of the 100 days will serve as a glimpse into our important history as a community center and as a place where all are welcome.”

The annual fundraising dinner, renamed Todah in 2022, which in English translates to “thank you,” is scheduled for September 18, 2022, at the JCC Denver. The event will serve as a way to thank the community for a robust and fulfilling history and to celebrate the 100-year milestone.

Visitors interested in seeing the “J” in the lobby should visit jccdenver.org for more information and to view the lobby’s hours. The JCC Denver is located at 350 S. Dahlia Street in Denver.
