Sherri Liebhauser

After 15 years as Program Coordinator for the Greater Glendale Chamber of Commerce , Sherri Liebhauser is ready for her next adventure. During her tenure at the Glendale Chamber, she handled every aspect of every event — from address changes to ensuring that businesses were featured in the weekly newsletter — and her first priority was always the members.

“I will definitely miss the members, some of whom I’ve found so much in common with over the years,” Sherri says. “The relationships I’ve made at Glendale are solid and will continue.”

Born and raised in Wisconsin, where she attended college and married Bob Liebhauser (who is a longtime Glendale Chamber Ambassador), the couple grew tired of the cold and moved to Florida when their three daughters were nearing school age. After a short stay in the sunshine state, Bob and Sherri took an opportunity to transfer to Houston where their daughters grew up and attended college. During the girls’ college years, Bob and Sherri took advantage of another transfer opportunity and moved to Denver where they have lived since 1994.

All is well with the Liebhauser family, and now Bob and Sherri enjoy spending time with their five grandkids. The three oldest of the grandchildren attend three different colleges — University of Texas, University of North Carolina, and North Carolina State. “We are very proud of our family and see them as often as possible,” Sherri adds.

In addition to personal success, Sherri has spent the last 30 years of her professional career specializing in human resources, business development, office management, and customer service, among other duties. She also worked for the U.S. Census Bureau in 2010. Her administrative experience includes concept development, design, and implementation of a broad range of training programs, building relationships with clients and alliance partners, and installing and teaching a variety of business systems.

Choosing Glendale

Sherri’s career path led her to Glendale in 2005 when she and Bob bought their ActionCOACH franchise and joined several chambers in an effort to network and learn about other businesses in the area. One of those chambers was the Glendale Chamber and soon they realized that was the place to focus their time and energy.

“We enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere of the events, as well as the friendly and welcoming vibes from fellow members,” Sherri remembers. “Bob and I also quickly recognized that the Business After Hours events were the best as they were welcoming, helpful, and it felt like anyone could connect there and have great conversations. It still feels that way.”

Sherri and Bob are proud that ActionCOACH is celebrating 20 years this year and adds that Bob will continue serving as a Glendale Chamber Ambassador. Sherri also says that while she’s looking forward to her new part-time position working with small business owners, she will miss the people she spent a decade and a half getting to know in Glendale.

Additionally, although Sherri is no longer working for the Glendale Chamber, she says she will likely attend events when it fits with her schedule. “Business relationships actually happen in Glendale which is what sets it apart,” she explains. “When I was hired I was already part of a small business and knew what it took to be successful.”

She adds, “Being a small business owner myself, it was important that the Glendale Chamber created an atmosphere that was welcoming to all different business types. Helping our members succeed was a big part of what made our organization different.”
