Denver Academy (DA) hosted a special ceremony for senior Schuyler Parker in celebration of her commitment to play division one water polo for Iona University starting in the 2026-27 school year. Those invited to this special event include DA high school students, faculty and staff, along with VIPs who have been instrumental in Schuyler’s success.

Schuyler Parker is a senior at Denver Academy graduating in 2026. Schuyler started attending DA in third grade and is a well-rounded leader at the school. She serves as Social Chair of the National Honor Society at DA, was the winner of DA’s 2024 STEM Expo, is involved in the DA Student Senate, and the No Place for Hate student committee, and also serves as a student ambassador for the school.

Schuyler has also played on Denver Academy’s high school volleyball and basketball teams and was recognized as the Defensive Player of the Year this fall.

Schuyler has maintained an outstanding GPA throughout her high school career, has more than 240 volunteer community service hours as a stats keeper for the Air Force Academy Men’s Water Polo Team, and was recognized as a USA Water Polo Academic All-American for maintaining outstanding academic performance while competing at an elite level.

Schuyler has also been a member of the East High School varsity swim team for the past four years, earning a spot on the 5A State Team last year in the 100 Fly. Schuyler has been a driving force in Colorado water polo for the last 10 years. She has competed at the highest levels, traveling out of state 15+ times a year. She has been a member of the USA Water Polo Olympic Development Program Mountain Zone National Team since 2018. Last spring, Schuyler was named the Nick Johnson Inspiration Award winner by USA Water Polo. This season, she also serves as team captain, demonstrating exceptional leadership and commitment to her teammates and the sport. Looking ahead, Schuyler plans to pursue a degree in psychology with the goal of becoming a psychologist with the FBI.

“As parents of Schuyler, we are beyond excited to congratulate her on her commitment to furthering her academic and athletic career at Iona University, where she will play Division I water polo,” said Schuyler’s parents, Peter and Bethany Parker. “Watching her dedication, resilience, and growth has been nothing short of inspiring. We’ve been in awe of her journey and couldn’t be prouder of the person she has become. A heartfelt thank you to all of Schuyler’s coaches, teachers, and Denver Academy Head of High School, Mr. Wood, for your incredible guidance and support along the way.”

Schuyler shared, “I’m beyond excited to announce my commitment to Iona University to continue my academic and athletic journey playing Division 1 water polo! I’m so thankful for my parents, who spent countless weekends at the pool cheering me on; my coaches, who helped me become the player I am today; my teammates, who have become great friends; and my teachers, who have challenged me academically and prepared me for this next step. I can’t wait to be part of the Gael family!”
