DIA Let’s the Steve’s Snappin Dogs Out!

Sherri • August 28, 2013

Denver International Airport (DIA) was recently named one of the “World’s Best Airports.” Steve’s Snappin’ Dogs has been voted “Best Hot Dogs in Denver” for six years in a row. Coincidence??? How about the fact that DIA prides itself on offering both local and national food choices and Steve’s Snappin’ Dogs is a local favorite throughout Denver and as a vendor at Infinity Park? Well, cue the Twilight Zone theme music because in January 2014, worlds collide at DIA when Greater Glendale Chamber member Steve’s Snappin’ Dogs opens its new 1,390 square foot location in the heart of Concourse B.

Local expansion is a “dream come true” for owner Steve Ballas and his wife, Linda. “I joined the Glendale Chamber as soon as I became the concessioner at Infinity Park,” Ballas says. “The Chamber has helped me build my brand and has been the cutting edge on many marketing ideas for their members.”

The Greater Glendale Chamber has a reputation for bringing people together and creating connections for exciting collaboration. This synergy is what led Ballas to partner with local favorite and Glendale hot spot, Bull and Bush Brewery to craft a brew specifically for Steve’s Snappin’ Dogs guests. “We are proud to have been selected as a partner, together with Steve’s Snappin’ Dogs and DIA, to show airport travelers the best of what Colorado has to offer,” says Bull & Bush owner David Peterson.

But what about the original location? How will you survive a Raptors match without an Atlanta Slaw dog loaded with chili con carne, cheddar jack cheese, cole slaw and red onions? Never fear fans, the original Steve’s Snappin’ Dogs spot on Colfax isn’t going anywhere. “Our vision is to grow the business at our Colfax location and build the brand by putting our hot dogs in grocery stores, local markets, sports venues and other Colorado attractions,” Ballas explains.

I bet you’re thinking about hot dogs, thick shakes onion rings or fries (or both!) right about now. Well, with Denver, Memphis, California, and Jersey dogs on the menu there is no need to travel for the tastiest hot dogs around. However, if you do decide to hit the road don’t go hungry! Concourse B is just around the corner waiting to serve up hot dogs and cold brew with a Colorado flair.

Steve’s Snappin’ Dogs is located at 3525 East Colfax Avenue on the corner of Colfax and Monroe. For more information call 303-333-SNAP (7627) or visit www.stevessnappindogs.com.
